Everlasting love: The best moments from 11 years of Love Saves The Day

Bristol's biggest and most beloved festival has selected its proverbial "best bits" — from a fresh faced Disclosure in 2012 to its first post-COVID event headlined by Little Simz

Celebrating over a decade of festivals, Love Saves The Day returns this year to Ashton Court, Bristol next Bank Holiday weekend. With the tenth edition of the beloved South West festival just around the corner, let’s check out some of LSTD's most spectacular moments — and maybe, relive a couple that you witnessed in the flesh.

Originating in Castle Park in 2012, Love Saves The Day has since stepped up its game each year with its stages, activities and most importantly, its line-up — which has consistently showcased a spectrum of global favourites, exciting newcomers as well as local Bristol talents. Some legends that have taken to the stage at Love Saves The Day include Stormzy, Honey Dijon, Bicep, Lily Allen and Fatboy Slim — who headlined its first edition, and will be returning to the festival this year.

Set to be yet another iconic weekender, headlining this year’s edition alongside Norman Cook, will be pop sensation Years & Years. Also billed to perform are the likes of, Four Tet, Kelis, Andy C, Romy, Nia Archives, Overmono (Live), Knucks and plenty of other acts spanning the genres of drum ‘n’ bass through to rap.

From its mesmerising "tower of light" that is the centre stage, to hunting down the secret ball pit — each year brings a vibrant range of activities and music that never fails. With a little help from the team at Love Saves The Day, we've narrowed down some of the most cherished moments from Bristol's largest festival below.

2012: Love Saves The Day debut

The very first Love Saves The Day took place in 2012, at Castle Park in Bristol's city centre. Headlined by Annie Mac as well as a performance from a fresh faced Disclosure, at the very beginning of their rise to fame.

2014: A two-day festival

The Main Stage at Love Saves The Day's very first home Castle Park, 2014 saw the festival move to two days — with the very first Sunday show headlined by Chic ft. Nile Rodgers.

A firm festival favourite from the very beginning. Eats Everything at Love Saves The Day for a stage takeover from infamous local party Just Jack.

2015: The move to Eastville Park with Stormzy's first-ever festival performance

In 2015, Love Saves The Day moved to its new home of Eastville Park, having outgrown it's old city centre location. Among the line-up, Stormzy made his ever festival performance announcing: "Love Saves The Day - this is my very first festival".

2017: Arcadia's Afterburner stage

Arcadia bring their iconic Afterburner stage to Love Saves The Day.

2018: Fatboy Slim returns and new stage revealed

Fatboy Slim headlines the sold-out Love Saves The Day 2018, he is due to make his return to the festival for 2023.

A brand new stage for 2018 - the Centre Stage - is unveiled, quickly becoming a firm fan favourite with headline performances from Denis Sulta, Andy C and Sub Focus.

2019: Roll The Dice

Lily Allen headlines the final Love Saves The Day at Eastville Park in 2019. Taking the opportunity to jump onboard Shy FX's early afternoon performance for a raucous rendition of their summer hit collaboration, 'Roll The Dice'.

2021: The Clifton Downs post-pandemic launch

The festival moved to the iconic Bristol location, Clifton Downs in 2021 for a one-off show in the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic, with Little Simz headlining.

2022: The festival returns

A move to the legendary Ashton Court - home of the original Ashton Court Festival - takes place in 2022. The expansion see's Love Saves The Day's production and lineup grow exponentially, with the all new Love Saves Stage headlined by a stunning live performance from Bicep.
