The Bristol festival is still shooting Cupid’s arrow
Eight years in and Love Saves The Day is still giving ravers enough reason to adore the festival.
Back in Bristol's Eastville Park, Love Saves The Day once again brought together the best in house, disco, drum 'n' bass, rap and much more.
Saturday saw Palms Trax, Antal, Orpheu The Wizard and more deliver the vibes on the Brouhaha stage, a new, open-air structure with the look of an abandoned building. Meanwhile, the Main Stage catered to a mix of tastes with performances coming from Maribou State, Manchester artist IAMDDB, smooth crooner Jimothy Lacoste, special guest Shy FX and headliner Lily Allen.
The Paradiso stage got the rap treatment with slots for Little Simz, 'Nothing Great About Britain' MC Slowthai, Flohio, Kojey Radical. The brutalist Lonely Hearts Club was home to a day of bouncing house, with sets coming from CamelPhat, Dennis Ferrer, Eli Brown, Eli & Fur and Solardo. Of course it wouldn't be a Bristol festival without any drum 'n' bass, the rollers being provided by Sub Focus, DJ Hype, Storm, Noisia and loads more on the day.
There was a whole lot more d'n'b on Sunday thanks to Chase & Status' RTRN II Jungle showcase on the Main Stage. DJ Die also presented a host of Bristol flavours with his GutterFunk showcase in the Lost Gardens, joined by Addison Groove, Randall, Dismantle b2b Fixate and more. On a similar tip, The Blast took over Lonely Hearts Club with David Rodigan, bassline producer Holy Goof, Toddla T b2b Chimpo, Friction and more laying it down.
A whole load of former Mixmag cover stars also performed on the Sunday: Bonobo and Peggy Gou on Paradiso and Denis Sulta and Midland on the rainbow-coloured, pyramid-shaped Centre Stage.
Octavian, Not3s, DJ Seinfeld, HAAi, Mella Dee, Josey Rebelle, Chaos In The CBD, Children Of Zeus and Ray BLK also played on Sunday to round out Love Saves The Day's 8th Chapter Of Love.
