Chase & Status win Producer Of The Year at the BRIT Awards 2024

The duo will be performing along with Becky Hill at the award ceremony this weekend

Chase & Status win Producer Of The Year at the BRIT Awards 2024

The BRIT Awards has named Chase & Status as 2024 Producer Of The Year ahead of this year’s ceremony.

Set to take place on Saturday, March 2, the 2024 BRIT Awards will see the drum ‘n’ bass duo perform with two-time BRIT Dance Act winner Becky Hill.

The pair are also up for the prize of Best Group with fellow nominees Blur, Headie One and K-Trap, Jungle and Young Fathers.

Chase & Status commented on the win, writing: “We couldn’t be more proud - we’ve been flying the flag for British music now for a long time, we’re super proud of all the music that has come out of the UK.

"As producers, and as a creative duo, I think we are probably in one of the best places we’ve been," they continued.

Towards the end of 2023, the duo - aka Saul Milton and Will Kennard - released their 10-track album ‘2 Ruff Vol 1’, this followed the release of their hit single ‘Baddadan’ with fellow d’n’b artist Bou, featuring Irah, Trigga, Flowdan and Takura.

The pair also collaborated with Becky Hill with the track ‘Disconnect’ which reached 48 million streams in the UK alone.

For 2024, The BRIT Awards have nominated Barry Can't Swim, Becky Hill, Calvin Harris, Fred again.. and Romy for Best Dance Act.

The Artist Of The Year nominees are Arlo Parks, Central Cee, Dave, Dua Lipa, Fred again.., J Hus, Jessie Ware, Little Simz, Olivia Dean and RAYE.

At this year’s BRITs, the ceremony will welcome the launch of the new category Best R&B Act after previously facing criticism for a lack of R&B representation.

The Best R&B Act nominees are Cleo Sol, Jorja Smith, Mahalia, RAYE and SAULT.

The awards ceremony will be taking place on Saturday at London's O2 Arena and will be broadcast live on ITV.
