Gottwood finalises full line-up for 2023 edition

Welsh institution Gottwood has completed the line-up for its 2023 event, adding the final names to the bill yesterday (January 26).

Taking place once again at the Carreglwyd Estate in Anglesey, North Wales, running from June 8 to June 12, names such SHERELLE, Salute, DJ Boring and an extended set from Raresh B2B Francesco Del Garda have been announced.

They join the likes of Anna Wall, Move D, Lukas Wigflex, Gene On Earth B2B The Ghost, Liquid Earth, DJ Tennis and Kai Campos (one half of Mount Kimbie) who had previously been announced.

There will also be first-time appearances from Anthea, Cristi Cons, Felix HK, Herodot, FRACTURE and Primal Scream’s Simone Marie.

Live performances will come from Sweely, Zombies In Miami, Channel One, Mathew Jonson, Phonetraxx, 4am Kru and Yazmin Lacey.

As usual, stages will be hosted by a variety of influential crews in Europe’s electronic music world. This year sees Animal Crossing, Butter Side Up, Half Baked, Homoelectric, Picnic Records, Trommel, Wigflex and more curating takeovers.

Tom Carpenter, Gottwood's Director told Mixmag: "There are a lot of performances that I'm extremely excited about this year. I would be lying if I didn't say the Francesco Del Garda b2b Raresh extended set isn't a standout and one that I will make sure I'm taking time off work to get heads down to.

"Border Community were a big part of the early days of getting into electronic music for me so to see James Holden live closing the lawn stage on the Sunday will be a big moment for not only myself but a lot. It also signifies the point of the festival when we can final relax as team a little, knowing all artists and punters are in and 90% of our work is complete for the weekend. Of course there is a lot of aftermath but that Sunday evening feeling has always been special," he continued.

"This year means a huge amount to all of us involved. It hasn't been easy since lockdown disrupted the flow in this industry. It's very important that this year goes well for an independent festival like ourselves. We've stuck to our principles and vision for 14 years to ensure the best experience for attendees. Hopefully this translates into another year of Gottwood where we are continuously tweaking to constantly deliver and improve."

Over the past 14 years, Gottwood has become a staple in the British electronic music festival calendar. Take a look at some glorious photographs from its 10th Birthday celebrations in 2019 here.

In July 2020, after the festival had to cancel due to the pandemic, Gottwood released a 30-track compilation, ‘Nottwax – A Gottwood Compilation’, featuring tracks from a number of Gottwood favourites, including Felix Dickinson, Ruf Dug, Bobby., Anna Wall and Margaret Dygas.

Early bird tickets will be available from January 31. For more information visit Gottwood’s official website.
