The Lab is our weekly office rave up powered by Void Audio where we live stream some of the biggest and best names in dance music. It's Notting Hill Carnival in London this weekend, so on Friday we bring you the sound of one of the best street parties in the world.
The Heatwave is London's premier dancehall party and has been running for more then 10 years. Recently its expanded to other cities in the UK and is also a firm fixture on the festival circuit. The guys know how to blow up a rave and their love of dancehall, bashment and soca plus plenty of party classics is a serious recipe for success. Their carnival float kicks out vibes and their carnival afterparty is one of the best places to carry on after the bass in Notting Hill dies down. Cult UK selectors, these guys do it right.
Channel One Soundsystem is one of the most famous rigs at Notting Hill Carnival. This'll be the sound's 32nd year at carnival and it will once again be bringing the smooth, soulful but very heavy dub vibrations its known and loved for. The crew nearly lost their spot this year after some residents complained, but there's no way anyone could get in the way of Channel One's force. Their stash of killer records will test our Void soundsystem for sure.
