Block9 announces biggest-ever line-up for Glastonbury
Artists include Larry Heard, Tony Humphries, Josh Wink and The Black Madonna
Block9 has announced the line-up for its biggest Glastonbury so far.
The space will now comprise of two adjacent fields - Block9 East and Block9 West - with a brand new area added, IICON, as it triples in size.
Situated in Block9 East, IICON welcomes Laurel Halo, Kode9, Larry Heard (live) featuring Fatima & Paul Cut, Okzhap & Manthe Ribane, Zenker Brothers, Hodge, Lee Gamble and loads more.
We're told the immersive 3D sound area will feature "immense sculptural artwork" and a six-point ambisonic soundsystem, animated by state-of-the-art video mapping.
Block9 presents AV-3D will run every night at IICON, an audio/visual "translation" of Olivier Messiaen’s 'Quartet for The End of Time'.
Genosys takes centre stage at Block9 West. Artists include Josh Wink, HAAi, Randomer, Anthony Parasole, Hannah Holland and Leeon.
NYC Downlow, running with the theme Chicago meets New Jersey Westside, returns with the likes of Tony Humphries, Mr Fingers (live), The Black Madonna b2b Garrett David, Sweely & Midland and Erick Morillo.
Luke Solomon & Rob Mello, Smokin Jo & Wes Baggaley are at The Meat Rack alongside Deptford Northern Soul Club and Discosodoma.
NYC Downlow will also have a theme each night. Thursday is Fetish night and Friday is Janet Jackson night, while it's the Biggest Drag Ever / Smallest Drag Ever on Saturday. The Sunday is a 50-year celebration of Stonewall.
