Kanye, Tyler, The Creator and Drake attend Virgil Abloh's Chicago funeral

Kanye West, Drake, Tyler, the Creator, and others, were among those who attended Virgil Abloh's funeral in Chicago earlier this week.

Kid Cudi and Kim Kardashian were also reportedly among those in attendance at the service, which was held at Chicago's Museum Of Contemporary Art.

As NME reports, the Instagram account @englewoodbarbie claims that artists like Rihanna, Frank Ocean, A$AP Rocky and more were also in attendance.

The funeral for Virgil Abloh, the American fashion designer and entrepreneur who served as Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton's menswear beginning in 2018 and Chief Executive Officer of Off-White, a fashion label he started in 2013, was understandably emotional for his close friends and family.

Tyler, The Creator broke down during his eulogy, recalling his bond with the late designer- according to Hypebeast.

Lauryn Hill sang her iconic 'Everything Is Everything', and there were also words from Abloh's sister.

According to Vibe, many of the visitors were shown in a state of mourning in images released by Chicago activist Englewood Barbie, including Rihanna, who was comforted by A$AP Rocky.

These images appear to have now been deleted or taken down from Instagram.

Artists he influenced or worked with began to pay homage to him after hearing of his death.

Frank Ocean paid an emotional tribute to his friend on Instagram, calling Abloh his "hero."

Tyler, The Creator also penned a lengthy Instagram tribute of his own, saying that Abloh “was always a cheerleader”.

“That hand of his opened doors, lead people in and tossed the keys outside for the next person to have,” Tyler's post read.

“I wish I was able to see him see what his helping hand did for me. His spirit is around tho. I feel it. He’ll see it. I’ll keep pushing and trying things while leaving the door open. He’ll shake those pom-poms. We’ll keep that on loop. Safe travels.”
