The rapper alluded to the name change in resurfaced tweets from 2018

Kanye West has reportedly filed to change his name to Ye

Kanye West has filed for a name change to Ye, according to TMZ. The rapper and producer filed paperwork in order to change his name on August 24.

It seems Kanye had been planning this move for a while, as one tweet from him in 2018 reads:

“the being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE.”

Many are anticipating the arrival of ‘DONDA’ after the two listening parties that have taken place for the upcoming album already, with a third planned for this Friday.

He has since posted a number of cryptic images on his Instagram building up to the livestream, and is currently working on building a replica of his childhood home in Chicago’s Soldier Field for the performance.

Fans have already heard a few songs from the project, including ‘No Child Left Behind’, ‘Hurricane’ and ‘Glory’ but the full project is still yet to be released.

The news also comes as West’s beef with Drake continues to escalate, with West releasing Drake’s address to the internet as the two continue to exchange insults.
