The biggest parties happening in Malta for Summer 2022

A buzz is brewing to jump on that plane, drink sweet cocktails and dive back into clubbing and what better place to go then The Maltese Islands slap bang in the great mediterranean sea, famous for hosting an abundance of parties and festivals. Filled with picturesque beaches and ancient architecture, Malta is a party paradise bursting with events this summer.

Spend a day at the sandy Ramla l-Hamra beach swimming in the clear water before site-seeing around the ancient capital Valletta. End on an evening with a meal, a pint of their very-own beer, Cisk to get you ready to dance until the early hours at one of many energetic clubs.

With the average tourist arrival equating to over 1.6 million people a year the pandemic has given the country a break to plan some of the best music events to all these tourists, expecting many more to fly over. As well as the parties, there is an array of restaurants and bars to visit before a night out which sound even better knowing that the average pint costs only €2,50.

COVID related travel restrictions are also no longer an issue when travelling to Malta as from May 9, has been welcoming tourists from any country without quarantining, as long as they are either fully vaccinated, have proof of recovery from COVID-19 in the past six months, or a negative COVID-19 test result.

Those without these requirements can also enter the country with either a rapid flow test done within 24 hours of departure or a PCR test which has to be done within 72 hours of departure.

If a cannot provide any of the previously stated documents, they will be asked to quarantine for 10 days. This period can be shortened to seven days if one takes a COVID-19 test and receives a negative result.

Other COVID-related rules such as masks in Malta have been scrapped with all venues running at full capacity making summer clubbing feel normal again.

300 days of sunshine a year make Malta the impeccable party-land.

Isle of MTV 2022 (July 19)

For one day only, a free festival will be booming out with a huge collection of artists. Isle of MTV will be celebrating its 14th anniversary with the likes of Marshmellow and French Montana. Set at Malta’s Il-Fosos Square, this is not one to miss.

Summer Daze Malta 2022 (August 10-17)

EDM, pop and house all merge together to form Summer Daze Malta that is bound to announce a huge line-up soon. Previously, artists from Tyga to Paul Kalkbrenner have performed.

Glitch Festival (August 13-16)

Rooftop parties, boat parties and secret cave raves - what more could you want! Glitch has become an iconic festival of Malta for encouraging dancing and showcasing some of the best electronic artists. The festival will be set in Gianpula Village for the first two days with the last day being a boat party.

Elrow Malta (September 14)

From Ibiza to Malta, Elrow is known for its legendary parties that are described as “the craziest party in the world,” with this summer party promising an immersive experience that will keep people dancing. The high energy and wild decor will heighten this party to the next level.

Drumcode Festival Malta (September 15-19)

Stages spread across ancient heritage sites, open air venues and boat parties, Drumcode Festival is bringing something new to Malta. The festival have announced 50 artists to perform including Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing, DJ Rush, Joris Voorn, Maceo Plex, Monika Kruse and many others.
