Movement Detroit finalises 2022 line-up

Skrillex, HAAi, Carl Craig and more will be joining the already impressive line-up

Movement Detroit finalises 2022 line-up

Movement Detroit has added more names to its 2022 line-up, leaving lots of revellers excited for the May festival.

Three veteran techno acts will headline Movement 2022, as the event prepares to return after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

Additions to the line-up include some huge names in electronic and rap music, including Flying Lotus, 2 Chainz, The Martinez Brothers, Skrillex, HAAi, Maya Jane Coles, Duck Sauce, Carl Craig b2b James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, DJ Stingray 313, Jon Hopkins, Overmono and more.

Some of these choices are left field for the festival, which has heralded this year's line-up as its "most diverse line-up yet".

Last month the festival announced that iconic Detroit-born DJ and pioneer Jeff Mills, Sweden's Adam Beyer, and longtime Movement favourite Richie Hawtin will headline the festival's main stage.

This year's schedule includes some of the city's most notable DJs, producers, and emerging talents in dance music and beyond, including Detroit Techno pioneers, in keeping with the festival's heritage of promoting Detroit's music culture.

This includes Stacey Pullen, DJ Minx, Rick Wilhite, Andrés, Waajeed, Drummer B, Icewear Vezzo, Jazmin Re'Nae, Neisha Neshae, Huey Mnemonic, Tammy Lakkis, Deon Jamar, Meftah and many more.

As written in a press statement, "The 2022 lineup continues to showcase the breadth of the festival’s programming, featuring an inspired selection of dance music’s most in-demand artists, underground mainstays, and notable first-time performers; a potent cross-section of seasoned vets and future generations of electronic music."

When will Movement Detroit be taking place? Movement, which is one of the highest regarded and longest-running electronic music festivals in the world, will return to its traditional Memorial Day weekend slot May 28-30 at the Hart Plaza, Detroit.
