A new 5,000 capacity warehouse venue is opening in New York

Broadwick Live has shared details of its first US-based venue, set to be a 5,000-capacity warehouse in Brooklyn, New York.

The DRUMSHEDS and former Printworks operator has collaborated with US-based design company TCE Presents to launch Brooklyn Storehouse, which marks the first project in a new "transatlantic relationship" between the two according to a statement shared today (May 21).

The 104,000 square foot space, which is set within Brooklyn Navy Yard, will open its doors for the first time this month — the venue is being described as a "cultural and arts space", with plans to host "set builds, fashion shows, innovative, experience-led music shows, immersive art exhibitions, summits and brand activations", the press statement continues.

The space has formerly played host to a number of cultural exhibitions and shows, including Ralph Lauren's Spring 2024 runway show last September.

While exact details of Brooklyn Storehouse's launch and programming have not yet been announced, Broadwick Live has confirmed that Justice, Charlotte de Witte and Eric Prydz will be among the first headliners set to perform at the venue.

"Brooklyn Storehouse is our boldest and most important venue opening yet and solidifies our commitment to reviving challenging industrial spaces and converting them in to new centers of cultural gravity," Broadwick's Director of Development and place, Luke Huxham, told Mixmag.

"We believe in redefining industrial spaces and how people experience culture through a more fluid and flexible approach," he continues. "Our spaces are continuously transformed to create new environments, filled with forward-thinking content, one-offs and world firsts."

He added that the venue's design approach is "sustainable, enhancing and adding new layers rather than over-designing", with a hope to "push creative boundaries".

Broadwick Live has collaborated with TCE Presents on the project, a major nightlife operation in the US who have produced over 150 shows a year including with promoters from CircoLoco to Time Warp led by the house and techno-focused Teksupport.

Brooklyn Storehouse marks the first US venue operated by Broadwick Live and TCE Presents. The UK-based company currently runs more than 30 venues and entertainment spaces, including DRUMSHEDS, Depot Mayfield, and Field Day.
