Atkins will perform a drum ‘n’ bass set at Stonebridge this year alongside the likes of Batu, Sally C, and more

​BBC News presenter Ros Atkins to perform DJ set at Glastonbury

BBC news presenter Ros Atkins, who in 2022 revealed his former life as a drum ‘n’ bass DJ, is set to perform at Glastonbury’s Stonebridge stage this summer.

Atkins will bring a “one-off drum ‘n’ bass’ set” to the festival’s famous dance music stage alongside performances from the likes of Batu B2B Bradley Zero, Sally C, Daphni, Groove Armada, and fellow BBC presenter Annie Mac.

“It's frankly incomprehensible that I'm tweeting this,” he announced on Twitter last week, “but here's the line-up for Stonebridge at Glastonbury and, to my great excitement and astonishment, I'm on it.”

“What started with a one-off drum and bass set for BBC 6 Music two years ago has ended up here. Very grateful for the invitation. Work on the set has already begun,” he said.

Also on the line-up at Stonebridge this year is Kitty Amor, Luke Una, Blumitsu, Daniel Avery, MJ Cole, Saoirse, DJ Boring, Erol Alkan B2B DJ Paulette, Anish Kumar, Jamz Supernova, Inja, Elkka, and Lukas Wigflex.

In 2022, Ros Atkins detailed his former life as a drum ‘n’ bass DJ before taking up a job at BBC News, where he now works as an Analysis Editor. He tweeted several photos of himself performing at events and parties with insights into his years of raving.

"Back in the 90s, along with lots of teenagers in Cornwall, I started going to raves & listening to hardcore and drum 'n' bass,” he explained.

Later in the year, BBC Radio 6’s Steve Lamacq invited Atkins to join him on the first edition of Summer Soundclash where the pair went toe-to-toe on a mix. Atkins dropped tracks from artists including DJ Zinc, High Contrast, and DJ Shadow.
