New York DJ and producer Eli Escobar is set to open a new nightclub in the heart of Brooklyn, New York, this month.

The venue, named Gabriela, officially opens on December 15 in Williamsburg close to the East River, taking the place of a former New York nightclub, Kinfolk 90.

Gabriela will open Friday to Sunday initially, each day from 10:PM until 4:AM. On the opening night, Eli Escobar is due to play all night long, followed by a six-hour set from Luke Solomon the following night.

The venue, which Escobar calls a new “intimate club”, is named after the DJ’s late friend who he discussed opening a club with years prior, according to Resident Advisor.

“I always dreamed of opening my own little club and specifically doing it with like-minded friends who share my love of music and nightlife," Eli Escobar told Mixmag. "And now here we are!”

The club bookings will be headed up by Escobar and 4AM NYC, and will see the likes of Dee Diggs, Kim Anh, Ben Manzone, and Planet B play at the venue over the coming months.

One to two bookings will play each night at the club and will be given the option to play separately or go back-to-back. No residents have been announced yet.

Gabriela will feature three rooms, including a bar for food and drinks, a club room, and a balcony over the dancefloor. The club will also feature a fitted soundsystem of vintage hi-fi equipment and will home Richard Long's iconic RLA X3000 crossover from the likes of Studio 54 and Paradise Garage.

“The focus won't be on ticket sales and long line-ups,” Escobar told RA. “We're gonna do our best to create a reputation for the spot that stands alone, to take the promo pressure off of DJs so they can do their thing and have a lighting technician working with them to enhance their narrative."
