Aitch launches free travel scheme 'Aitch-S2' to help young people experience music events

Aitch has just launched a free scheme to help young people travel to and from festivals and music events this summer.

The scheme 'Aitch-S2', in partnership with Relentless Energy, will fund train journeys so that young people can travel around the country in order to catch the festival, concert or event that they want.

Taking place during July and August, this is a summer-long scheme which will give people under 25 train vouchers worth up to £100 each and allocated weekly. It hopes to remove some of the financial barriers in place that stop young people from experiencing music.

Worth either £25, £50 or £100 - the vouchers are redeemable on any LNER rail service and can be used across National Rail, it is not redeemable for any train on the London Underground Network.

A press release about the scheme states that the mission is to help young people "break out of their hometowns to experience the best of what UK culture has to offer."

Aitch, hailing from Manchester, is known to champion talent which is grown outside of the London bubble and wants to extend this to music fans as well as music makers.

Under 25s from anywhere in the UK are eligible to apply to the scheme. This scheme was launched by the rapper and Relentless as a response to the ongoing cost-of-living crisis which is hitting the youth of today.

Speaking about this scheme, Aitch says: “I’m really excited to launch The Aitch-S2 with Relentless - there’s so much amazing culture around the UK, but for young people to experience it, they need to break out of their city limits, which is hard to do when its so expensive to travel outside your hometown.

“I don’t want anyone missing out on what is going to be a summer to remember, so this initiative will help young Brits get back out there and have fun, no matter the location.”

The scheme is on offer from July 5 to August 26 and young people can apply through the Aitch-S2 website here.
