Two tracks from Burial and Four Tet get digital re-release after 10 years

‘Nova’ and ‘Moth’ are due to be reissued tomorrow

Four Tet has announced the re-release of two collaborative tracks with Burial from over a decade ago, ‘Nova’ and ‘Moth’.

The pair first teamed up back in 2009 to create ‘Moth’, a nine-minute track landing on Four Tet’s imprint Text Records alongside a second track titled ‘Wolf Club’.

‘Nova’, another collaborative release from the two producers, came later in 2012. Neither tracks have received a digital release and were only restricted to limited edition vinyl copies.

Now, over a decade down the line, Four Tet - real name Kieran Hebden - has announced the re-release of both ‘Moth’ and ‘Nova’ coming tomorrow, February 11.

“Burial + Four Tet - Nova/Moth will get a digital release on Friday,” Kieran posted on Twitter last night. The shock announcement stirred fans all over the globe - much like the pair’s surprise release of their two-track record alongside Thom Yorke in 2020.

‘Her Revolution/His Rope’ saw the artists link back up for the first time in over eight years with fellow producer Thom Yorke via XL Recordings.

Since then, Burial has returned with a more steady release of new music through Kode9’s long-running label Hyperdub, bringing the likes of Blackdown on board ‘Shock Power Of Love’, and later dropping the long-awaited B-side to ‘Dolphinz’, titled ‘Chemz’.

In January, Burial also released his longest record since 2007’s iconic LP, ‘Untrue’. The 5-track release named ‘Antidawn’ saw the producer shift to a more experimental and ambient sound.

Meanwhile, Hebden has been fighting a legal dispute over streaming royalties with his former record label, Domino. The legal battle has since finished and Hebden has now signed a new publishing agreement with Universal Music.
