Four Tet has signed an exclusive publishing agreement with Universal Music.

With a 20-year career, 11 studio albums and his own label, Text Records, under his belt - Kieran Hebden aka Four Tet has joined the music publishing group.

Director A&R UMPG Pete Simmons said: “Four Tet has soundtracked my life from GCSE revision to dancefloors at university and now I get the pleasure to work with him.

“I’m honoured to represent a catalogue that means so much to not just me but the whole of UMPG. Looking forward to working with Kieran, Carol and the wider Solar team. Special thanks to Amy Samson for making the initial introduction.”

Four Tet is currently in a legal battle with Domino Recordings over streaming royalties for his music.

The producer signed to Domino back in 2001 and went on to release three albums with them however, now he is accusing them of removing albums from streaming services.

“This is heartbreaking to me,” said Four Tet, on Twitter in November. “I’m so upset to see that Domino has removed the 3 albums of mine they own from digital and streaming services.”

Four Tet is asking for £70,000 in royalties damages, those of which he lost due to Domino’s low royalty rates and appeared in court for the first time in December.
