Jasper Tygner releases new EP, 'Real Time'

Four cuts of music for the club, but also music for the headphones

Jasper Tygner has unveiled his long-awaited EP, 'Real Time'.

Having already shared two of its four tracks publicly - receiving support from names including Jaguar and Jamz Supernova - the multi-instrumentalist shares previously unheard 'FLLL' and 'Strangers Around' on the full EP release.

"This track was made directly after a trip to Berlin," he explains on 'FLLL', which employs pulsating melodic synths, energetic bass drums and jumping strings to embody its locational influence. "I wanted to make my own version of some of the techno I had heard, something with interweaved melodies and chords, but still leaning on texture and structure to drive the track."

Following on is the record's focus track, 'Strangers Around', featuring Just Lil. "Me and Lily got in the studio in late summer, and had a day where we just chatted and shared music," he explains. "I had sent a couple of things over and we just started with some of her voice notes. 'Strangers Around' was actually the second song we worked on, and the idea came very quickly. Was one of those ones where you know you have something good. We got the first almost complete demo done in one day. Was a super natural and organic process!

"I wanted to have a track that was pretty simple; something with only a couple of chords and a melody. Try and let the vocals shine.

"A lot of my early lockdown music was so headphone driven, but I see my music as both club music and headphones music," he adds on 'Real Time' as a body of work. "This EP can be played out in the clubs or listened to in headphones."

Not stopping at the EP release, Tygner is fresh from sharing guest mixes across Rinse FM, Foundation FM and Reprezent Radio and supporting DJ Boring, salute and Leon Vynehall. He kicked off a debut live show in November 2022, with "more to come this year" already being teased.
