Block9 reveals line-up for Glastonbury 2022 and partnership with Notting Hill Carnival

They've released a line-up and information about a collaboration with Notting Hill Carnival

Block9 is returning to Glastonbury for 2022 with two fields, Block9 East and Block9 West.

The two fields are set to welcome some of the biggest names in underground music, including Honey Dijon, Todd Edwards, DJ PAULETTE, Shygirl, Overmono, LSDXOXO, and SHERELLE.

Block9 West sees queer nightlife legends NYC Downlow make a comeback — alongside a homage to rave culture with a one-off Castlemorton special to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

From Thursday to Sunday, NYC Downlow will be hosting an array of late-night parties and bringing the best of city life and queer club culture to the fields of Glastonbury.

Block9 East hosts IICON — a digital and immersive experience which will feature the impressive installations that Block9 are famous for.

This year the organisation are collaborating with GENOSYS SOUNDSYSTEM to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of Castlemorton.

Gideon Berger, Block9 co-founder alongside Stephen Gallagher, says: "This year, Block9 is paying homage to the philosophy and spirit of Castlemorton. Thirty years on, we continue to fight for the utopian dream Castlemorton represented.

"A dream of music, community, and progressive inclusivity free from state control and corporate profiteering. Block9 is a direct descendant of the Castlemorton epoch and retains direct links to the people, DJs and crews behind the era-defining rave itself.

"Today, Block9 provides a festival platform for a new generation of artists and DJ’s upholding the very same political principles at the core of dance music both in 1992 and 2022."

Block9 is also collaborating with Notting Hill Carnival to bring the spirit of the West London carnival to Glastonbury for the first time.

They're doing this by creating the world’s first 100% green electric carnival float which will go across the festival site and feature dancers, masqueraders and some of the best selectors from Notting Hill Carnival.
