Big Sean releases 10th anniversary edition of ‘Detroit’ mixtape with new track ‘More Thoughts’
The mixtape includes appearances from Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole and Jhené Aiko
To celebrate ten years since the release of Big Sean’s ‘Detroit’ mixtape, a new extended version has just dropped alongside a new song ‘More Thoughts’.
Initially released via Def Jam and Kanye West’s GOOD Music, the 2012 mixtape from Sean included 18-tracks with features from Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and his partner, Jhené Aiko.
‘More Thoughts’ was due to drop in 2019 but was instead added to the mixtape's debut on streaming services.

Ahead of the re-release of the mixtape, Sean took to Twitter to answer fan questions where he said that the original mixtape was his chance to “have fun n stay creative”, and to “try flows n just be experimental wit the shit”.
Big Sean said he had been working with “a couple new producers” he was excited about, along with “some of my frequent collaborators”, adding that he had been recently working with Kaytranada.
“I was just in the vibe, I just wanted to rap n go in n have fun n stay creative. Try flows n just be experimental wit the shit. I was different coming out of Detroit for sure but knew I had the whole city on my back,” Big Sean said of the mixtape, according to Rolling Stone.
“Lotta people turned they back on me n showed me they was just clout chasers n energy vampires, the fans that stuck wit me though thank you. I feel the love n i love you back!!”

In 2020, Big Sean dropped the mixtape sequel, ‘Detriot 2’ which featured Lil Wayne, Travis Scott, Anderson .Paak, Ty Dolla $ign, Young Thug and more.
