Beatport adds bass house as a new genre category

In an effort to help its customers seek out the music they desire more efficiently, Beatport has announced the addition of its new bass house genre category.

Creating more opportunities for publicity and revenue for the wide-ranging music category, Beatport recognizes the growing international interest in bass house and are the first digital music store to add the genre to their platform.

Bass house's big-name advocates include labels such as Confession, Night Bass, Spinnin’, OWSLA and Audiophile XXL with support from individual artists like Anna Lunoe, Malaa & Tchami, Chris Lorenzo, Jauz, Volac, Skrillex and more.

"Bass house is a very useful sub-genre for browsing on Beatport," states Night Bass boss AC Slater. "It fills in all the gaps between garage/bassline and future house/electro. The bass house section will undoubtedly include loads of exciting releases and artists."

Since September of 2016, Beatport has added a slew of new genre categorizations including melodic house & techno, future house, trap/future bass, garage/bassline/grime, leftfield bass, leftfield house & techno and afro house.
