Detroit's Movement Festival shares first names for 2025 edition

Carl Cox, DJ Minx, DJ Gigola and Jamie xx are among the bill

Detroit’s Movement Festival has shared the first raft of names playing its 2025 edition, due to take place across Memorial Day Weekend, May 24 to 26, at Hart Plaza.

Among the headliners are Carl Cox bringing his live hybrid set to the birthplace of techno, with other big names from that world including DJ Nobu, Carl Craig, DJ Minx, Marcel Dettmann, Sama’ Abdulhadi, DJ Gigola, Klangkuenstler and Anfisa Letyago.

“Movement is a techno institution in Detroit so for me, it’s like reuniting with an old friend," said Carl Cox. "I’m going to make up for the years I’ve missed with a show that’s going to send Detroit to another dimension!”

Detroit ghettotech favs HiTech are also on the bill, with big draws from the world of house including Jamie xx, John Summit and Patrick Topping, while bassier sounds come from Chase & Status and Sammy Virji, with Ela Minus performing live.

"I’m stoked to be playing Movement for the third time and now, closing out the festival,” said John Summit. “I’ve attended as a fan for years and the energy and support this city and crowd bring is always special. It’s an honor to be a part of such a legendary event.”
