Travis Scott will not make Houston stop on forthcoming tour, Circus Maximus
The newly-announced tour marks the rap artist's first since the 2021 Astroworld tragedy
Travis Scott has announced his first headline tour since the 2021 Astroworld tragedy.
The extended tour titled Circus Maximus, will see the artist perform his latest album, ‘Utopia’ across the US apart from Houston.
The rap artist and producer has decided not to return to the state in which his Astroworld performance saw a fatal crowd-crush incident.

The crowd crush resulted in the deaths of ten people aged between nine and 27, as well as injuring thousands.
In June, a grand jury ruled that Scott would not face criminal charges over the incident, clearing his name from any wrongdoing in connection to the crowd surge.
28 shows have been announced to take place across October through to December this year with one his performances at the SoFi Stadium, California marking the artist’s largest headline show to date.
Revealing the tour dates and poster on social media, tickets to the tour will go on sale tomorrow.

According to NME, $2 from every ticket sold will go to Cactus Jack Foundation which outlines its mission to be “empower and enrich the lives of youth through education & creative resources to ensure long term success.”
Scott’s new album, ‘Utopia’ features contributions from the likes of Beyoncé, SZA, Kanye West, Daft Punk‘s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, Bon Iver, The Weeknd, Sampha, Drake, James Blake and Young Thug.
Earlier this year, Scott attempted to perform at Egypt’s Pyramids of Giza yet received backlash from the Egyptian Musicians Syndicate who tried to revoke the permit.
Ultimately the event was forced to be cancelled with Live Nation Middle East blaming “complex production issues” for causing the cancellation.
