Laurent Garnier enlisted for 25th anniversary edition of 'fabric Presents' mix series
The famed French electronic producer will headline fabric's Room 2 at a launch party for the mix in December
fabric has enlisted Laurent Garnier for a special edition of its ‘fabric Presents’ mix series, in celebration of its 25th birthday.
Set to land on the club's imprint on November 25, via a deluxe vinyl and a CD, the tracklist for the physical-only compilation is yet to be announced — however, fabric has confirmed that there will be a new, four-track EP from the French dance music legend included.
"After 20-plus years of choosing artists to record mixes for our original fabric and FABRICLIVE series, up to the current ‘fabric presents’, we drew up a shortlist of acts we all admire who had not yet recorded a mix for us," fabric has revealed in a statement.
"This person’s career had to match the club's lifespan and the musical generational changes we've all been through to join us in our 25-year series," the statement continues. "Laurent stood out, having first played in 2002 and always returned when he had the chance to play for us.’

The mix will be launched at an event on December 7, with Garnier headlining Room 2 — while Works Of Intent, Ron Trent and Serenda play in Room 1 (with its newly upgraded soundsystem) and Circa Groove, Thorgurder, Rupert Ellis and Will Mellor take to the decks in Room 3.
“When I (first) saw Room 2 with its open DJ booth I thought this is definitely for me. It’s a small room and a really nice booth close to the crowd. I’m a dancer so I like to be involved, together with the people,” says Garnier.

The nightclub has said that more details on the project will be revealed over the coming weeks, with a special announcement on October 18.
Having started in 2019, the ‘fabric Presents’ series has included contributions from the likes of Bonobo, The Martinez Brothers, Maribou State, Chase & Status and, more recently, Rødhåd, Confidence Man and The Streets.
News of Garnier joining this list comes days after the artist began his new monthly radio show on French station FIP. As the network’s first-ever resident DJ, Garnier will be presenting ‘[DEEP] Search’ every first Saturday of the month from 10:PM to 12:30:AM CET, with the intention of discovering the latest releases and, according to a press release, “inviting listeners to discover new and daring sounds.”
