Caroline Polachek has announced a new album ‘Desire, I Want To Turn Into You’ with the release of the single ‘Welcome To My Island’.
Out on Valentine’s Day (February 14), this is her first album since 2019’s experimental release ‘Pang’.
‘Welcome To My Island’ - produced by herself, Dan Nigro, Danny L Harle, A. G. Cook and Jim E-Stack - was previously hinted at in Instagram posts from the artist as well as embedded within the music video for ‘Sunset’.

Polachek's voice is the star of the track as she sings “desire, i want to turn into you” over a layering of drum beats.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Polachek explains that the forthcoming album has a dual meaning.
“One, it can be read as being about the ‘you,’” she says. “We all know that feeling of falling in love, of wanting to obsessively learn from and become that person. But on the other hand, maybe desire is the thing you want to turn into itself.”

Next year, Polachek will be touring the UK and Europe in Spring from Brighton to Barecelona with tickets available here.
