Boardmasters crowd offered COVID-19 jabs as they leave site
Team hope to see "as many glittered-up faces and happy smiles as possible”
Boardmasters festival has installed a walk-in Covid-19 vaccine clinic on site.
The clinic is set up in one of the car parks for attendees leaving the site today. It will be operating between 9:AM and 5:30PM.
Tracey Hembrough, from Atlantic Medical Group, is running the drop-in service and says the vaccination team was "hoping to see as many glittered-up faces and happy smiles as possible during the walk-in.”

She continued, “We hope that after everyone has enjoyed a brilliant few days of live music and getting back to the things they love they will take the opportunity while they're here in Cornwall to grab a jab.”
The service is available for first and second doses, with some age restrictions applying, according to NHS Kernow. Those aged 16 and over can receive their first jab, whilst second jabs are available for those aged 18 and above who had their first dose eight weeks before.

Boardmasters is not the first in the events industry to offer COVID-19 jabs on site. Earlier this month, Heaven opened their doors for the service.
This year’s Boardmasters was the first since 2018.
In 2019, the Newquay festival was cancelled just hours before due to weather warnings. Last year, it was postponed due to coronavirus restrictions.
The long weekend’s festivities saw performances from Gorrilaz, Jamie xx and Honey Dijon.
