‘Renaissance’ is the first of a planned trilogy and is a 16-track dance album with high-profile, cross-genre contributors such as Drake, Skrillex, and Honey Dijon

In a statement uploaded to her website the day before the album’s release, Beyoncé said: “This three act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic. My intention was to create a safe place. A place without judgement. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom.”

The statement also paid respect to her “beautiful husband and muse” Jay-Z and her family. Her late uncle Jonny is also credited for introducing the singer to the many disco, house and soul sounds that inspired this album.

Many of the tracks in the album are dance-infused, as can be expected when your line-up of production collaborators includes the likes of Honey Dijon (‘Cozy’), Skrillex (‘Energy’), Green Velvet (‘Cozy’), A.G Cook (‘All Up In Your Mind’), and Boi-1da (‘Heated’).

Fans have had mixed reactions to the album, but many people like the dance-infused album and say that it makes them want to be on a dancefloor and helps them feel good about themselves.

'Renaissance' is Beyoncé's's seventh studio album, and is her first solo album release since 2016's 'Lemonade'. She released 'Everything Is Love; with Jay-Z under the name The Carters in 2018.
