Ballantine’s is celebrating the power of club culture at ADE
Ballantine's House will host panels, talks and live music at the Amsterdam Dance Event
Ballantine’s True Music Series has announced a new partnership with ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) and Mixmag to bring the Ballantine’s House to the ADE by Day programme.
The venue will open on Wednesday, October 16, and host panels, talks and live music, celebrating music and the power of club culture with the help of a roster of influential artists and scene figures from across the world.
This includes a panel discussing ‘How Dancefloors Create Communities’ featuring representatives of four revered nightclubs from across the world: Glasgow institution Sub Club’s Managing Director Mike Grieve; Beirut’s unique pyramid club The Gärten’s co-founder Ali Saleh; beloved Barcelona spot Nitsa’s General Manager Ferran Camarasa; and founder of former New York house and techno haven Output, Nicolas Matar.
Steven van Lummel, an artist and the owner of PIP Den Haag club in The Hague, will host then hosts a talk with Amsterdam clubbing luminary Kim Tuin of Het HEM art space.
A party will follow, soundtracked by Sub Club residents Harri & Domenic and a special guest who is yet to be announced.
Tom Elton, Ballantine’s Head of Music, said: “Ballantine’s has long been proud to help tell the stories of the thriving music communities that are promoting inclusivity and redefining the scenes in which they’re based. Nightclubs, the physical and spiritual home of True Music, are absolutely integral to this. They provide community and culture all over the world so what better place to bring this commentary and celebration to the forefront than at ADE, a festival that has redefined nightlife through its iconic annual program.”
Gijs Matthee, ADE’s Head of Brand Partnerships, said: “We’re happy to be working with Ballantine’s for the first time to bring more pioneers from the global club scene to share their stories and insights to inspire its future.”
