Arcadia shares details of new arena for Glastonbury 2024, The Dragonfly
Joy Orbison, Barry Can't Swim and Shygirl are all set to perform on the converted Royal Navy helicopter on Worthy Farm next month
Arcadia has unveiled a new arena for this year's Glastonbury Festival, The Dragonfly.
According to a statement from the Arcadia, the newest addition to its fleet of "bio-mechanical creatures" will be adapted from an ex-Royal Navy helicopter — repurposing a "weapon of destruction into a unifying symbol."
The Dragonfly will run on batteries charged off-site, powered by "wind and solar energy," the statement continues.
Headliners set to take flight for the stage's debut include Fatboy Slim, Eric Prydz, Amelie Lens and Andy C — joined by Barry Can’t Swim, Joy Orbison, Shygirl, HAAi b2b KI/KI, Hedex b2b Bou and many more.

The Dragonfly will be the second time since 2007 that Arcadia has forgone its iconic fire-breathing spider for another mechanical creation, having brought along the crane Pangea for Glastonbury 2019.
Organisers have confirmed that its "amphibious" The Bug stage will be roaming the Arcadia field again this year, though the line-up for the vehicle has yet to be announced.
"We’ve loved the challenge of forging something so new as our main Glastonbury installation - it’s been hard to contain the excitement and keep this under wraps," said Arcadia founders Pip Rush and Bert Cole.
“Arcadia’s firmly back to its roots with some deep repurposing of insane military machinery to create a ground-breaking centrepiece for our boldest ceremonial arena yet, opening profound new levels to the experience.

“The magic is weaving all of the unique elements together into a powerful melting pot which is going to explode on Friday night and throughout the rest of the festival,” they continue.
Arcadia has also shared that it will be launching a new kids' area for Glastonbury 2024: The Alchemists’ Playground.
Open to families during the day time, the new playground will allow children to explore and learn about "repurposing, engineering, design and performance."
