A remix LP of Placid Angles' 'Touch The Earth' album has dropped

A remix LP of Placid Angles' album 'Touch The Earth' has been released, one year on from its original drop.

Available via Figure, names such as Marcel Dettmann, Dauwd, Cassy, Plaid and the original artist himself have got involved with providing remixes, with Placid Angles - aka John Beltran - providing one cut under his moniker, and another under his own name.

Dettmann opens the record with a combination of the original album's soundscapes and a driving beat, kicking off the LP journey, before shifting into a rolling drum contribution from µ-ziq and horn and synth sounds from Plaid.

Further in, Cassy provides a stomping beat alongside Baltra's melodic house remix and an atmospheric techno hit from Dauwd.

“I felt honoured when I was asked be part of this beautiful and really cool project," Cassy told Mixmag. "John Beltran is a great artist and I’ve played music from the label for years. When I said yes, I had no idea who was going to be a part of this, I just knew I couldn’t say no! Now I am stunned to see how cool it is to be part of it, alongside peers I admire like Marcel and John.

"My remixes are always quite simple, I see them from a DJ point of view. I love techno and house my way, so I hope I have served you both styles.”

Beltran's remixes are intertwined throughout, dubbed as the "essential glue that makes it all bind together".

With the Placid Angles alias being reinvigorated over recent years, providing additions to this LP under the moniker and his own name has allowed Beltran to showcase his vast array of sounds whilst calling upon an abundance of others to craft the overall release.
