Aphex Twin and u-Ziq post first unreleased track from the 'Mike & Rich' vault
A series of lost 1994 productions
Back in 1994, Aphex Twin and µ–Ziq created the collaborative album 'Expert Knob Twiddlers' as the duo Mike & Rich.
Last week, µ–Ziq, also known as Mike Paradinas, announced that his label, Planet Mu, would be reissuing the pair's album with some additional, unreleased content from the vault.
Today, the first installment of these lost treasures has dropped on Paradinas' SoundCloud. The track titled '11 Vodka (Mix 2)' is an edit of one of the album's originals and is paired with a description presumably written by the Planet Mu label head.
"The record was made on what is now seen as pretty primitive gear - an Atari, Roland MKS-80, Memorymoog, Roland R8 and a handful of samples on a Casio FZ-10M - but it’s to their credit that it resonates well with the hardware workouts coming out today."
The summary also cites the reissue's upcoming content, including new tracks 'Portamento Gosh', 'Waltz', 'Brivert and Mounds', 'Clissold Bathroom' and 'Organ Plodder'.
