The Tobacco Dock Virtual Easter weekender gave us a glimpse into raving in the future.

On April 2 and 3, LWE welcomed the likes of Chase & Status, SHERELLE, Skream, Enzo Siragusa, Flava D, Hot Since 82, Nastia and more into Tobacco Dock Virtual, a virtual reality iteration of the London nightclub.

Online ravers were able to make their own avatars and step foot inside TDv, making their way around the virtual club space - designed by virtual reality platform Sansar - as if they were actually at Tobacco Dock IRL. That meant they had access to the Great Gallery, the Car Park, the Terrace and the Little Gallery over the two nights.

Skream was behind the decks in the Great Gallery on Friday, treating virtual ravers to a mix of bouncy house and rave-leaning breaks towards the end of his set.

On Saturday Flava D was delivering rinse-out drum 'n' bass in the Cark Park for Hospitality's takeover as avatars dodged and danced among a slew of lasers.

Kings Of The Rollers and Inja followed Flava D for another injection of heavy-hitting d'n'b in the Car Park for the penultimate set of the night in there ahead of Camo & Krooked.

Take Note LDN was also involved over the weekend, hosting a bunch of talks and discussions. It also hosted an exclusive mini-documentary on Chase & Status and their RTRN II Jungle showcase.

Ahead of the VR weekender, we spoke to LWE's Paul Jack and Will Harold, who spoke about developing Tobacco Dock Virtual, its links to gaming, how it will carry on even once nightclubs can open and more.

Check out all the sets from Tobacco Dock Virtual on TDv's Facebook page.
