Hessle Audio boss Pangaea makes another continent-sized contribution to the “Big Summer Banger” cause, with boisterous pop-meets-techno-meets-house single ‘Installation’. As primed for windowless basements in Salford as it is for pouring shots of Ciroc at sundown in San Antonio, the track’s bubbling bassline, sexy vocal and shuffling hats make for some proper dancing-with-a-sunburn fodder.

Even if you aren’t particularly engaged with cheeky banger lore, last month you probably still heard the collective sigh of relief from everyone who was old enough to have hit dancefloors around the time that ‘Au Seve’ came out in 2012 — as it was revealed that house icon Julio Bashmore was once again releasing music under his primary alias. And what a return, ‘Bubblin’’ - with its raucous 4x4 breaks, wobbly bassline and ascending vocal sample - feels like a perfect mixture of old school Bashmore and modern, unhinged club music. The result is a track that is consistent, satisfying, but doesn’t compromise on those delectable breakdowns that made the producer a household name. Thank god.

With sibling duo and dance music’s new favourite “two guys” bringing out their highly anticipated debut album this month, there was an opportunity to dig through the record beyond knock-out singles ‘So U Kno’ and ‘Is U’. One that really caught our attention was eighth track ‘Sugarushhh’, which stands out for how it deviates from the big-room-small-room impact of the album’s big hitters — a stripped-back, atmospheric synth radiates over frantic, keening theremin plucks, all brought back in the room with a soft, sugar-laced vocal that curves around the eerie production like a hug. After Kendrick’s “top of the morning” bars on 2021 Baby Keem collaboration ‘range brothers’, his Irish arc continues with the cousins’ new cut ‘The Hillbillies’ dropping with a music video partly shot in Dublin’s Stephen's Green Shopping Centre. After the introspective intensity of the soul-searching ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’, Kendrick sounds set free here, trading braggadocious bars and playful ad libs with Baby Keem over a light Evilgiane beat.

The debut track from Black Artist Database founder NIKS, released ahead of the collective’s label-launching ‘Synergy’ compilation, is a rousing dancefloor heater. It draws from the Caribbean, with a Patois acapella, samples of birds recorded in Mexico, and soundsystem-rattling production.

This taster from Baalti’s fortchoming EP on LDN-LA label all my thoughts is a beauty of a track. Following their formula of blending the sounds of South Asia into dancefloor frameworks, it showcases the San Francisco-based duo at their best. Starting with a slightly frantic energy of jittery and panning beats, the track transcends towards blissful territory with a sweetly sung vocal sample, twinkling melodies and soothing pads — all underpinned with a chopped and screwed rhythmic workout.

But this 140 cut is the creation of Miami-hailing DJ duo INVT, who teamed up with London MC Logan_OLM across two soundclash tracks fusing the sonic roots of London and Miami. ‘WE INSIDE (CULEBRA VIP)’ is 140 at its finest, bringing together dembow and dubstep under the irresistible off-the-cuff flow of Logan_OLM.

To mark the launch of a brand new label from the Berlin party series Body Language, DJ Fuckoff and Yazzus team up to co-produce ‘the cum track’, a four-minute cut as sensual as it is erratic. Taken from DJ Fuckoff’s debut album ‘Fucktopia’, ‘the cum track’ chops and changes from moody techno to playful vocal samples that insist: “No I ain’t done, so please just let me cum,” in a hypnotic, crooning vocal trance.

Out of nowhere, we’ve been gifted with a gem of a remix from two legendary stars of the music world, Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar. After circulating on social media, the sought-after track has dropped not on streaming platforms, but also at Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ world tour. Building upon the original from her 2022 club-focused album, this version features some new twists and turns, including a fresh verse from Lamar. Naming himself in the lyrics as an “honorary Beyhive” fan, this marks the pair’s first collaboration since their track ‘Freedom’ in 2016.

This flirtatious track by UK favourite Jorja Smith sees the artist take her heavenly vocals down a dance music route. Jazz meets house music with a driving piano riff that circulates through the song. The lyrics, alongside the unique music video which contains some on-the-street interviews, revolve around having a compelling love interest. The music video also features a cameo from Headie One, celebrating with Jorja at a house party.
