Supreme has collaborated with AKAI on its MPC Live II sampler.
The new-look sampler is part of Supreme's SS21 collection, which will be rolled out from February 18. It's a fully working piece of kit, with 16 velocity-sensitive RGB pads, 7" multi-touch display, built-in speakers and stereo studio monitoring.

The AKAI MPC Live II sampler is synonymous with hip hop, with producers historically sampling old tunes to make new beats. Supreme's new drop has a hip hop theme running through it as it also features a T-shirt with Notorious B.I.G on it and a T-shirt with the artwork of 'H.N.I.C' - an album by Mobb Deep's Prodigy - printed on it.
You might be thinking you've seen Supreme-branded music tech before. Well, we duped you all with our April Fool's back in 2018 with mock-ups of a faux limited-edition collaboration between Supreme and Pioneer DJ. Supreme actually did link up with Numark on a turntable in 2020, too.

Other garments in the collection are a varsity jacket designed by Jamie Reid, the artist behind Sex Pistols' 'Never Mind The Bollocks' and an Iggy Pop puffer jacket.
As expected in Supreme's drops, there's a bunch of miscellaneous items including a Zippo lighter, a fridge, an umbrella, a Panton chair and loads more.
AKAI had a busy 2020, releasing its beat-making software MPC Beats and announcing the MPK Mini MK3, a MIDI controller which features MPC Beats, samples from MPC Expansions and virtual plugins such as AIR Hybrid, Mini Grand and Velvet
