Prodigy of Mobb Deep has died, RIP
The legendary hip hop pioneer performed his last show on Saturday
Prodigy of the legendary hip hop duo Mobb Deep has died in Las Vegas. He was 42.
The cause of death is currently unknown, but Prodigy, real name Albert Johnson, was battling health issues for many years, mainly sickle cell.
Johnson was in Las Vegas performing as part of the Art of Rap tour, which also featured fellow hip hop pioneers KRS-One, Ice-T, Ghostface Killah, Onyx and more.
In the 1990s Johnson formed Mobb Deep with fellow artist Havoc. They released their debut album in 1993 titled 'Juvenile Hell' and would go on to release eight albums in total as a duo. His last release came in 2017 with his sevent solo album titled 'The Hegelian Dialectic'.
