Skrillex teases first solo album in nine years
The first single from the double LP with Fred again.. and Flowdan lands this week
Skrillex is rumoured to be working on his first solo album in almost a decade, due for release later this year.
Fans suspect the record will come as a double LP after the producer posted a 15-second snippet of a forthcoming unreleased track captioned: “QFF/DGTC 23”, alluding to the name of a double record.
Fans in Skrillex’s subreddit speculated that the second acronym, ’DGTC’, could stand for ‘Don’t Get Too Close’, following a tweet posted by the producer earlier last year.

If the speculations are true, the double record would mark Skrillex’s first solo LP release in almost a decade following 2014’s ‘Recess’, and his third - and potentially fourth - record to date.
Anthony Green, frontman of Circa Survive, Saosin, and L.S. Dunes, replied to Skrillex’s teaser video on Twitter shortly after it was posted, stating: “Honored to be apart of this record. It’s a masterpiece. Thanks for letting me work on it with you Skrillex.”
Elsewhere, the producer teased the release of a collaborative track alongside Fred again.. and Flowdan, ‘Rumble’, now set for release today, January 4, after doing the rounds at festivals last summer.

“Rumble. Jan 4th,” reads the caption of an Instagram post alongside a short clip and animation of the forthcoming track.
In recent years, Skrillex has produced a handful of tracks alongside the likes of 100 gecs, Four Tet, Noisia, Justin Bieber, J Balvin, and Ty Dolla $ign.
Aside from Anthony Green, Fred again.., and Flowdan, it’s currently unclear which other collaborations could appear on the rumoured double album.
