Roland introduces new E-X10 Arranger Keyboard

Roland has just released a new portable keyboard, with tone quality and expression reportedly akin to the sounds of their higher-end at home and stage models.

It offers acoustic pianos amongst other sounds, an auto-accompaniment function, a microphone input, and a large song library.

The outer body also has a built in stereo speaker system, a headphone jack and support for battery powered operation, allowing for more portability.

Roland is the developer of a number of impactful pieces of electronic instruments, including the Juno-106 synthesiser, used abundantly by artists such as Tame Impala, Calvin Harris, Tyler, The Creator and Metronomy, as well as the Roland TR-808, which ahs amassed somewhat of a cult following since it was first used by early hip hop pioneers such as Run-DMC and Public Enemy.

Over 600 selections of additional sounds are offered with the model, ranging from electric pianos, and orchestral instruments to modern synthesisers and world music sounds.

If you are an aspiring producer and keen to learn how to read, play or develop your own music, the model comes with an aux input that allows users to play songs from their own personal library, as well as 140 pre-set tracks users can study. It also includes over 200 preset styles including modern dance music, jazz and rock.

There are 64 available voices, 601 tones, 9 drum sets, 10 types of reverb and 8 types of chorus, and a tempo scale ranging from 5 bpm all the way to 280. which give way to extensive experimentational opportunities.

The model also includes a recorder, allowing you to track your progress while learning or layer recordings on top of one another to develop an arranged track.
