Revamped Avicii track 'Heaven' hints at forthcoming posthumous album

Longtime collaborator Carl Falk is on top of the project

Following the tragic passing of dance music superstar Avicii earlier this year, a rough and unfinished version of Avicii's track 'Heaven' - featuring Coldplay's lead singer Chris Martin - surfaced online. Today, Avicii's longtime collaborative-partner, Carl Falk, revealed on Instagram that he'd cleaned up and finished a version of the track 'Heaven.' The post also comes with a strong indication that a full-length, posthumous Avicii project is underway.

In the post, Falk discusses how he has felt "strange and emotional" finishing these "songs" (plural) without having his old friend and collaborator by his side. Allegedly, Avicii had left behind nearly 200 unfinished tracks and planned to release a follow-up EP for his 'Avīci' series before his untimely passing.

Geffen Records president and Avicii's A&R executive Neil Jacobson - who spent a hefty amount of time with the artist in the studio - has told the public that the tracks Avicii was working on before his passing was "his best music in years".

In addition to this, fellow EDM icon Nicky Romero recently opened up about the plethora of unfinished Avicii music he has in his possession and how he has been toiling with the virtue of releasing it.
