Eric Prydz, Deadmau5, Flying Lotus and more take to social media to pay their respects
Swedish DJ Tim Bergling (aka Avicii) - the iconic artist behind global hits such as ‘Levels’ and ‘Wake Me Up’ - has passed away at the age 28.
The untimely passing of the young and beloved artist has resulted in an avalanche of tributes from the dance music world. Many artists, such as Deadmau5, Martin Garrix, The Black Madonna, A-Trak and more, have taken to social media to express their sorrow and pay tribute to Berglund.
Details regarding the cause of Avicii’s death remain unclear and his publicist has asked the public to respect his family’s “need for privacy” following the devastating news - adding that "no further statements will be given".
His label, Sony, released a statement saying: “We are mourning the incredibly sad loss of an exceptionally creative talent who we have been honored and proud to represent as one of our songwriters for a number of years. Our thoughts are with his family at this time”
