Movement Detroit releases first 20 names for 2024 festival

Kevin Saunderson b2b Idris Elba, James Blake, Sama' Abdulhadi and more set to play

Movement Detroit has released 20 names for this year’s festival.

Held at birthplace of techno, the first wave of sets confirmed for Detroit this year include a b2b between the pioneer Kevin Saunderson and the UK’s Idris Elba; while James Blake, I Hate Models, Jaguar and VTSS - who will playing b2b with Boys Noize - will make their Movement debuts.

Other names revealed include 999999999, DJ Minx, Fatboy Slim, Floating Points, Honey Dijon, Mount Kimbie, Joseph Capriati, Sama' Abdulhadi as well as Goldie performing with a live band.

This year’s festival at its home of Hart Plaza will mark Movement Detroit’s 18th edition since its launch in 2006.

The festival has six stages including the Waterfront Stage showcasing the sounds of funk to ghettotech, the Stargate Stage and Detroit Stage with local veterans and rising stars, the Underground Stage set as a "warehouse party" and of course the main Movement Stage at the heart of the festival.

Movement Detroit will take place across Memorial Day Weekend which is from May 25 - May 27.

Last year the festival had Basement Jaxx headlining alongside Underworld and Charlotte De Witte.

Headliners to this year’s festival as well as other names are still to be announced.
