kaptcha unveils newest compilation, 'xenolith v2.0'

It follows the first edition which dropped last autumn with proceeds going to a great cause

Portuguese collective kaptcha has unveiled its latest compilation, 'xenolith v2.0'.

Released this week, it follows on from 'xenolith v1.0', which dropped in October 2021.

Featuring residents and some of their favourite artists and musicians such as Peach, Kerox and ketia, the record was described as a "post-apocalyptic gathering of efforts through mutual agreement and excitement about coming together as a way to heal and dream of sweeter futures" after "long periods of physical distancing and alienation".

The record was a huge success, amassing €1200 worth of donations to date towards transgender and non-binary Lisbon community CASA T, the first sheltering center focusing on tranvestigeneres immigrants in the city of Lisbon. They also promote intervention and dialogue action in-between LGBTQIAPNB+ people, immigrants and/or racialised people and their housing and health needs, promoting their integration within the working market in Lisbon.

The collective have decided to make the ‘xenolith’ compilation release into a series to continue its charity efforts, with proceeds once again heading towards CASA T. There’s been €270 raised to date from v2.0 thus far, with that figure set to climb.

v2.0 is a showcase of thoughts, futures and feelings experienced throughout the past two years, materialised “through sound and vibration”, getting a global range of artists involved to articulate these emotions.

Those involved include D. Tiffany, Yazzus and DJ Fuckoff - who describes her tune as a somewhat love story, created during “a process in dealing with a hard breakup.”

“Now it’s found its perfect place,” she added.
