Prospa's Harvey Blumler announces hiatus from performing amid ongoing ear issues

The duo's forthcoming sets in Ibiza, London and the Netherlands will be performed solely by Gosha

Prospa's Harvey Blumler has confirmed that he will take a step back from performing as he recovers from ongoing ear issues.

In a statement shared via the Leeds duo's Instagram yesterday (July 2), Blumler said: "It breaks my heart that I have to take some time out due to an ongoing issue with my ears."

Blumler confirmed that he has suffered "two perforated ears and ear infections" across the last six weeks. "Unfortunately, because I've still been doing some shows, this has meant my ears haven't had time to heal."

"I've been seeing a specialist and the advice is to let them heal if I want to continue at all, so for the foreseeable future, I'm going to have to sit out of shows," he added, saying that he hopes the issue will be resolved "within the next four weeks", though he admits he's "unsure how long it will be."

His duo parter, Guiorgi "Gosha" Smith, will instead perform solo at Prospa's forthcoming tour dates, which include a set at Ibiza's Circoloco on Monday (July 6) and further appearances at Awakenings Festival, supporting Peggy Gou at London's Old Royal Naval College, and Rotterdam's Audio Obscura.

"Lastly, I want to thank each and every one of you for your understanding," Blumler continues. "Above all, I want to thank Gosha for all of his hard work and dedication while I was away. All I ask is that you show him the appreciation he deserves. Show him some love."
