Get lost in Floating Points' new EP 'LesAlpx/Coorabell'

Out now via Ninja Tune

UK's Sam Shepherd, better known as Floating Points, stuns us again with his brand new three-tracker 'LesAlpx/Coorabell' which dropped today via Ninja Tune.

Always unwavering in his distinctive sonic vision, the EP sees Shepherd takes aim at the dancefloor with soaring synthesis and indomitable basslines that keep you locked in from start to finish. Following the reveal of the cut 'LesAlpx' back in June, the fully realized release comes paired with an extended version of the glowing tune as well as a 'Coorabell' - a surging groove enforcer that shifts between grungy and ethereal vibes with ease.

"I started going back to my early records and all the sounds I loved playing at clubs like Fabric and Plastic People," says Shepherd. "I wanted to capture the immediacy of that music and the feeling that I got when I was on the dancefloor, of being immersed in a track that pulls you along instantly. I actually made these tracks quite quickly, which helped to get rid of any desire to overthink the music – it’s essentially the sound of me having loads of fun with the machines in my studio and going back to basics."
