fabric unveils new flagship label, fabric Originals

The first release on the imprint comes from hi-NRG pioneers Eris Drew and Octo Octa

Seminal London nightclub and record label fabric has unveiled plans for a brand new flagship imprint, fabric Originals.

Having already helmed its original record label in 2000, the London institution this time focuses on ‘internationally renowned’ emerging artists currently shaping the sound of dance music.

To mark the new label’s first release, Eris Drew and Octo Octa are set to christen fabric Originals with brand new collaborative two-tracker ‘A Day After A Night With U / Stars & Water’.

The first track sees Eris Drew drop in her signature hi-NRG sound, classic keyboard orchestrations, and breaks-cut 303 patterns in a rolling, acid-influenced belter. Meanwhile, Octo Octa find cues from a classic house sound that makes ‘Star & Water’ serve as the antithesis for Eris Drew’s opening track.

“My record with Maya includes a love song written by each of us for the other about a special night we spent together alone on the beach during the early phase of the pandemic,” Eris Drew announced on Instagram earlier today.“The water was cold off the New Hampshire coast but we were warm and filled with love.”

“Maya’s song ‘Stars & Water’ is a gorgeous bass-heavy house roller & my song ‘Day After a Night With U’ is a harpsichord acid-break ripper feat. the vocals of Elizabeth Troy,” she added.
