I.Jordan has just released new double single ‘Always Been’ / ‘First Time Back’, which comes as part of three sets of double tracks that they are set to drop in the coming months.

'Always Been' / 'First Time Back' has been released through Ninja Tune, and more tracks from I.Jordan are set to be released on Ninja Tune soon.

Speaking on Instagram about the upcoming releases, I.Jordan says: "Each of these singles show a different part of me and the styles of music I’ve been making over the last year and a bit. Both these two tracks were started during lockdown, dreaming of happier and more hopeful times, and refined while being back on the road.

"It’s been so fun playing them since being back and I’m v happy to finally get them out in the world!"

‘Always Been’ is a whimsical, magical dance track guaranteed to get your body moving. Filled with soft melodies, perfectly timed drops, lustful vocals and a catchy beat - this track is bound to get you in your feels.

'First Time Back' picks up the bpm, and takes listeners on a mental journey through bouncy rhythms, a catchy drum beat and some playful piano weaved in.

The artwork to this double single is taken by photographer El Hardwick - these images have both personal and artistic significance to I.Jordan.

“As a trans person I'm forever changing”, comments Jordan, “being visible in the image without directly showing my face allowed me to avoid capturing something I might feel unconnected to in a few months time, but still shows off parts of my trans-ness”.

Jordan (formally known as India Jordan) made their official name change to I. JORDAN shortly before the release.
