EA Sports unveils 117-song soundtrack for football game FC 25

EA Sports has unveiled the 117-song soundtrack for football game FC 25 (previously part of the FIFA franchise), available to listen to via Spotify.

Set to drop with the game on September 27, the playlist features a wealth of artists from across the globe, both up-and-coming and established.

Electronic music fans can look forward to songs from Fred again.., Disclosure, Jamie xx, Nia Archives, Channel Tres, Justice, Overmono, Bklava, Skrillex, and Ben Böhmer, among others.

Other big names hailing from the worlds of pop, rock, hip hop and jazz include Billie Eiish, Charlie XCX, Ice Spice, J Balvin, Kasabian, Tame Ipala, Fontaines D.C, Anderson .Paak, Obongjayar, Ezra Collective, and more.

Pa Salieu features with the track ‘Allergy’, the artist’s second release since he was released from prison this year, following comeback single 'Belly'.

Meanwhile, the soundtrack achieves its wide-reaching diversity by including experimental Arabic-Latin pop from the Palestinian-Chilean singer-songwriter Elyanna, Japanese drill from rapper JUMADIBA, future ghetto funk from South Africa’s Moonchild Sanelly, and indie rock from Spanish band Hinds.

A list of unreleased tracks, slated for release later this year, have also been included on the soundtrack, including tracks by FKA twigs, Coldplay, Delfina Dib and Catfish and the Bottlemen.

FKA twigs recently announced her third album 'Eusexua', slated for release via Young on January 24 next year.

Since the soundtrack was first introduced to EA's football simulation gaming series in 1997, on the game Road to World Cup 98, it has become a significant platform for artists, introducing them to a new audience and increasing their streams.

In an interview with Spotify in 2022, EA music supervisor Raphi Lima said: “The impact is felt across big and small acts, with streams jumping over 500% for some of them during the weeks that follow. Smaller artists have leveraged major record or publishing deals after a FIFA placement, as well as booked international tours once a song made the list.”

Reggaeton superstar J Balvin has expressed his gratitude at being included on the soundtrack: “It feels incredible to be featured in such an iconic game. Having my music be part of the FC 25 soundtrack and sharing this honor with so many other talented global artists is something I’ll never forget. I can’t wait to experience it all when I play.”
