Nightclubs in Ireland set to reopen on October 22
The proposed date is reliant on a successful vaccine rollout
Nightclubs in Ireland are set to reopen fully from October 22.
The date has been introduced as part of the Irish government’s four-stage plan to ease COVID-19 restrictions. “High-risk activities” such as clubbing are to return as one of the final stages.

Whilst the news is promising for partygoers in Ireland, the reopening is reliant on the success of the country’s vaccine rollout. Specifically, 90% of over-16s must be fully vaccinated for the restrictions on clubs to be lifted.
Meanwhile, public transport in Ireland has been able to operate at full capacity as of this week. From Monday September 6, venues will be allowed to open at 60% capacity for those who are vaccinated, and 50% for those who are not. Live music is permitted at weddings, but live indoor music events remain fully seated.
A pilot club night is set to take place this month, yet details remain unconfirmed.

When all restrictions are lifted on October 22, according to an effective vaccine rollout, mask-wearing in healthcare settings, indoor shops and on public transport will still be required.
