Beatport enlists top record labels for Beats in School mentorship program
Dirtybird, Hospital, mau5trap and Second State train aspiring producers
Industry leading online electronic music retailer Beatport has launched a contest that grants producers the chance to be mentored by top record labels like mau5trap, Hospital Records, Dirtybird and Second State.
For the upcoming 2019 season, the year-long initiative will pick four winners who will receive direct A&R from the top label ambassadors of these four esteemed imprints, career guidance from industry experts, support from Beatport’s wide network of partners and a coveted prize package featuring industry standard gear.
In addition, the program offers a number of one-on-one studio courses and tutorials that have been tailored by the distinguished music education institutions Berklee School of Music and Point Blank Music School.
Beats In School will be accepting entries from November 13 until December 9. The mentorship program will begin in January 2019 for this season’s chosen talent.
“Independent record labels are the heartbeat of electronic music, breaking fresh talent every year," says Beatport's Chief Product Officer, Terry Weerasinghe. "The labels involved in this year's Beats In School have helped launch the careers of artists like Fisher, Rezz, Amelie Lens and Unglued. Beats In School is the program that gives artists the chance to be next year’s big thing - I can’t wait to see who the labels choose!”
