The Cause has been given a final closing date

The Cause has confirmed it will be closing imminently in an Instagram post earlier today.

The Tottenham venue had previously announced a series of parties in the run-up to "the beginning of the end" through September and October, though no solid date has been given yet as to when the club will close.

A number of residential developments have appeared around the venue, and they had explained that with tenants moving in soon - the current location of The Cause would not be viable for much longer.

The Cause had always planned for the Ashley Road location to be a temporary home for the project.

However with a new statement today on Instagram, it seems that the end could be coming sooner rather than later, with owners announcing they would reveal the final date next week.

"The writing is on the wall and our final weekend at Ashley Road has been made clear," The Cause wrote on Instagram. "We've shared a lot of special memories with you over the last few years, so let's make sure we end it right."

"Next week we'll reveal our plans for the closing of our current home. It wouldn't be right to leave without one more massive blowout."
