Teki Latex is taking over musical and artistic direction for a new label Impossible City Records. Impossible City is run under the umbrella of Underscope, managed by Brice Coudert who previously founded legendary Paris clubs Concrete and Dehors Brut.

Renslink’s forthcoming EP ‘Curiosity Is A Type Of Youth’ will be the label’s debut release, coming out on June 11.

Speaking on the label, Teki Latex says, “the name Impossible City Records refers to a recurring dream where I find myself in the streets of a city that is strangely familiar to me but does not really exist. This city has the towering skyscrapers of New York, the neon lights and small alleys of Tokyo, the warm feeling of Montreal, and a slight southern France seaside town feel. I stroll through this city where everyone knows me and greets me, from the cheesemaker to the club bouncer, as if I were on Sesame Street. As I walk along the streets, I push open doors that each lead me to a completely different and secret world. The label’s art direction will be conceived in this image.”

In that vein, this newest EP from Leeds-based producer Renslink, formerly known as Ren, is certainly a new kind of world portal. Painted with shimmery synths and hypnotic loops, the world of ‘Curiosity Is A Type Of Youth’ is somewhere between club and ambient, cinematic yet meditative.
