TAAHLIAH is 'Brave' on debut single
TAAHLIAH’s debut single ‘Brave’ is PC Music-inflected experimental pop banger
TAAHLIAH has this week released her debut single ‘Brave’ via London label untitled (recs).
Sonically very influenced by the late and great SOPHIE, ‘Brave’ is an abrasive, PC Music-inspired experimental pop banger, pairing cutesy auto-tuned vocals from collaborator Sophie Thornton with sharp synths and an ascending structure that soars right until the end.
The song speaks to the Glasgow-based producer’s experience of coming to terms with her own transness while also delivering a more universal message of solidarity and strength within the queer experience.

TAAHLIAH has previously shared the stage with the likes of SOPHIE, LSDXOXO, Eris Drew and 100 gecs, to name a few. She has also been the first Black trans artist to be nominated at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards, and the first artist ever to be nominated in and win two categories in the same year.
She has recently performed at Club Quarantine, the online safer queer clubbing space developed during the global lockdown, and the Minecraft virtual festival Lavapalooza.
